Kodava Warrior Culture: A Legacy of Bravery

The Kodava warrior culture is a proud part of the history of Coorg. The Kodava people are known for their valor, and many of them have been soldiers who fought in various Indian wars. Their martial traditions are still alive today, with the kupya (a short sword) being worn as a symbol of their bravery. The Kodavas also have a unique military clan system, and their historical legacy continues to be honored through festivals and rituals.
